Do you like to garden herbs but do not have enough space?  Today I am going to tell you about CONTAINER GARDENING.  We have a medium-sized garden, so I thought I would try container gardening this year for my herbs.  If you live in an apartment, in a small house in the city with a miniscule yard, or in a place where the ground is not good for gardening, you may want to try container gardening.  Would you like to try your hand at growing herbs?  Then let's get started...herb gardening in containers.  But

~You'll want to choose what herbs you will grow.  Generally mint, thyme, sage and basil grow the best in pots inside.  Choose your plants and purchase seeds. Research herbs and what grows best in your climate!

~Once you have your seeds, plant them into a windowsill garden.  You may find windowsill greenhouses at many places - Home Hardware, Canadian Tire, etc.  I use Jiffy's brand.  You may find it here: Canadian Tire - Jiffy 12-Cell Peat Pellet Windowsill Greenhouse Kit ...

~The mini greenhouse you purchase will come with specific instructions. I cannot stress this enough - even avid, experienced gardens need not skip the instructions!  All seeds have different likes/dislikes as far as sun, water, etc., and in order to guarantee good growing you need to give them the right amount of sunlight and water.
~Plant them in your Jiffy windowsill greenhouse.  I recently planted my herbs and they are now growing like crazy!  The key thing is to keep the greenhouse fairly warm and protected.  Don't place it outside; for now just keep it on your windowsill.
~When your plants have germinated and grown (to the point where they are too big for the mini greenhouse), you can transplant them into plastic containers.
I hope this practical post will inspire you to grow your own herbs!  Comment below and let us know what herbs you've decided to grow.  Have fun!
