Last month, after my sister got married, I moved into her room and decided to keep it cleaner than I kept my old room. These are some things I found helpful:
  • Purchase some containers that match your room and place in them the things that you use occasionally.
  • Organize your drawers with little containers that can be bought at a dollar store.
  • For the things you use daily, such as hair supplies and make-up, buy some pretty open-faced containers for easy access.
  • If your room is long and skinny, place mirrors on the longest wall in a pretty setting to make the room look more square-ish.
  • Keep the things you use rarely in boxes in your closet.
  • Make your curtains look pretty
  • Remember, the whole room looks neater and well-kept if most of the objects in your room are matching!!
  • Know where everthing is. If you have no clue what's in your closet, it might be time to organize it and find out what's there before you REALLY need it!
  • Unless there is nowhere else to put stuff, KEEP EVERYTHING AWAY FROM UNDER YOUR BED OR DRESSER!!!!

Also, DO NOT think that I am saying you need to go all out and buy lots of stuff in order for your room to look nice.

One of the primary reasons for mess is STUFF!!! Sometimes, though, it is worth it to spend a little to make your room look nice, Other times [at least for me], the reason my room is messy is because I don't want to clean it.

The cleanest rooms are not owned by the people who buy stuff all the time to improve it, the cleanest rooms are the ones which belong to dilligent workers.

1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
