Staying fashionably yet modestly in style doesn't have to be mind-boggling.  Here are 3 quickies, just for today, on how you can instantly up the polished factor on whatever you are wearing:

1. Get dressed to shoes!  Many a time I have seen a gloriously gorgeous outfit - except it stops suddenly when I look at the shoes.  You can make or break an outfit with the shoes you wear.  For example, if you have on the most beautiful fuchsia pink dress, yet pair it with ugly mustard boots, it can totally wreak havoc on the whole look.  So, do as I suggest and get dressed to shoes!  When picking out your day's outfit, always take into factor the kind of shoes that would compliment it.   I know so often we base our outfits off our shirts and skirts, but what about centering an outfit around your shoes for once?  First, pick a pair of shoes you adore and want to wear more often.  Then think of creative pairings.  i.e. If you want to wear your grey flats, think about what would compliment that...perhaps that elephant t-shirt and jeans!  When you are picking out your shoes, it's also vital to take into account what you will be doing for the day; for example, if you know you will be outside for awhile and standing, it might be a good idea to wear something comfy.  I know for a lot of people who stay at home more, this may look different, as your day likely isn't always centered around being out, but the fact of the matter is: Always make sure your shoes make the outfit, not break it.

2. Do your hair!  Okay, I know you are busy.  But at the very least, brush it out very nicely and wear it down, or do a simple braid or bun.  A pretty hairstyle that says "I cared enough today" says a lot.  It doesn't have to be an intricate fishtail hairstyle or a fanciful twisted up-do, just keep it simple, laid-back, yet polished.  If you need hairstyle inspiration, or if you find yourself in the so-called "hairdo rut", glance at how other people do their hair.  It's amazing how much you can learn from people's styles by staying seated for even 10 minutes at a busy mall (a feat, if you ask me)!  Of course, you'll see some hairstyles in which you'll go "Looks nice on her, but that is so not me!"  But you may just find some hairstyles that'll have you squealing: "That's adore!  I bet I could easily copy that!"  You can simply sit down and watch how people wear their hair!  Talk about easy inspiration and ideas!  All in all?  Keep your hair looking great every day and your style brownie points will go up.

3.  Wear some kind of pretty fragrance. I once heard it said that a woman's perfume tells a lot more about herself to people then her handwriting!  If you don't like perfume, you can opt for something lighter and airier, such as a body mist. Even a little essential oil (opt for something dainty-smelling) rubbed on your wrists or neck can make a big difference. It doesn't mean you have to wear some kind of fragrance every day.  No way.    But every so often, wearing a touch of woodsy pine or a note of sweet jasmine can be a nice surprise!  Wearing fragrance allows for your unique personality to shine, and it also makes your whole outfit better!

Well, those are just three of MANY, MANY ideas for looking polished and cute.  It was hard (nearly impossible) for me to select just which 3 tips I would share, but I think those are pretty important ones.  Maybe I'll do another post soon, sharing quick-tips on how to look put-together and friendly!    More tips coming soon.
