Yummy Chai Tea

I have been wanting to share my chai tea recipe with y'all so here goes.

First off, can I just say that you should leave all of your presuppositions about chai at the door.  Even if you don't like the stuff (or think you don't like it), I suggest giving this a try.  You might be very suprised!!

Start with Stash's Vanilla Chai tea.  (It's decaf.) Mmm.  You can purchase this just about anywhere, I know Superstore sells it.  Steep a large cup of tea, leaving room at the top for other yummy ingredients. After you have let it steep for about 5-8 minutes, leave the tea bag in (*very important*) and begin doing the following:

Add 1/8 cup milk.

Add 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.

Stir in a dash of nutmeg (1/4 teaspoon).

Gently stir in 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla.  Even though there is already some vanilla in the tea, I really like the added vanilla.  It gives it fresh warmth.  (I like Kirkland's Pure Vanilla, found at Costco.)

Put about 1 small package (or half a package for half-sweet) of stevia into your delicious drink.  If you have the liquid stevia, a few drops is plenty as a little goes a long way. (Optionally, you may use sugar or honey, but I just love the flavour stevia adds.)  You can purchase stevia here or at your local grocery store.

Take the tea bag out of your drink and enjoy!  You may top with whipped cream, homemade is best, or just drink as is.  Super yummy.  In the fall/winter, I like to enjoy it hot and steamy, but in the hot days of summer, iced chai might be nice!
