Gardening is so much fun!  I can’t wait to get my hands dirty in the garden. Well I’m not sure where you live, but it’s already getting really warm here today (and it’s only May).  For those in the States or in other hot places, warm weather is just the norm.  But for us here in Alberta, it’s super exciting when the weather gets above 20 degrees.  Why?  I guess it’s because we have cold winters, so seeing the sun after a freezing winter is a miracle!  Anyway I thought I’d share with you a few fun ideas for your garden.  I hope you can implement some of them and try them out in your own garden (whether you live in the city or the country).  Here are three fnatastic ideas to get you started.  Have fun and let your imagination soar!

Cookie Walkway -  If you have a grandpa or dad who loves to woodwork, as if he can cut you some “cookies”.  Basically you take a stump and cut it in thin, round circles, to resemble a "cookie" shape (circle).   You can lay them out across your yard as stepping stones.  This is a really fun idea, especially if you have younger sisters or brothers who like to jump from one to the next.

Shoe Garden - Plant your flowers in a high heel shoe?  Can it be done?  Yes!  Simply line the shoe with pebbles, fill with dirt, and plant your flowers.  They will literally grow out of the high heel.  This is a really pretty decoration for any garden.

Easy Wreath Bird Bath - Create an oasis for those little chirpers right in your own backyard!  Cut three (5-foot) lengths of manila rope and knot together at both ends.  Nestle a grapevine wreath inside the ropes, as shown on the picture.  Place a terra-cotta suacer inside the wreath.  If you like, tuck leaves into the wreath/wind them around the ropes (as shown).
